I was lucky to be able to buy 55lb bag of Boric acid for 50 bucks plus tax.
It was "20 Mule Team" from Rio Tinto Mining Co., Denver, CO.
Company here in Dallas, had an old price posted on the net and decided to honor it!
Now it is about 85.00, still beats Borax and acid option.
So I came out smelling like a rose, since I needed no acid at all.
I will be using Borax for maintenance because of small packaging and price. Small amounts of Boric acid are too pricey.
Arm & Hammer Baking Soda?
Arm & Hammer Baking Soda?
Baking Soda is used for raising the total alkalinity of the pool, which is the key to keeping the ph in balance. It's not a stabilizer. That's cyanuric acid. When you buy soda, if you can find bags of baking soda like you would buy for a bakery, you can often find it cheaper than in tubs through a pool chemical supplier.
