CLOUDY BLUE WATER!!
well it worked for me, I don't know why it won't work for you... are you runnning your filter? Why don't you contact a pool professional in your local area to come out and look at it, it may cost you a little money but they will be able to tell you what is wrong and you won't have to worrry about it anymore...

I have also been told to floc my pool as mine is cloudy and the chemicals are correct, I have been told by a professional pool cleaner who always keeps his pools crystal clear. If i was you I would tell this mullins to floc off.
cloudy water
you can tell me anything you like...i don't mind at all. you are funny.
i think pool forums are good and i think it's imortant to let others know that sometimes things that work for one doesn't necessarily work for others...the floc turned my pool cloudy immediately when i poured it in. now if you are soooo smart...tell me why the floc done this...as i know this should never have been the case. BUT IT DID HAPPEN TO ME...so others needs to know, that's what forums are for..to be informative.
so tell me...why did the floc do this to my pool?

cloudy blue water!
been there before, raise your ph above noraml even to 8.0, reshock w/99% (twice the amt. you think)not the 65%active, it'll leave 35% inert waste on the bottom, that'll plum into a cloud when you vacuum. run the filter continous and back wash every 8 hours. using a flocing agent will work but only on the finest of particles when the pool is clear but not that crystal clear look you want. don't know the size of your pool but I'm betting your shock isn't nearly enough[/b]
pool guy said to clean water put 5 gal chlorine in 10,000 gal pool.now pool is sea green/blue but cloudy here is the exact reading:total hardness-very low, total chlorine-ok,free chlorine-very low,ph-high,total alkalinity-low,stabalizer-ok ----don't understand all this and there is so much info some say to leave some say to put this that and the other what do i do???????
cloudy blue pool water
I have been having a problem clearing cloudy blue pool water too. When the pool was opended it turned from green to blue in three days after shocking it and it has been open for a week now. The water is blue but remains so cloudy or milky looking that the bottom is not visible. I called the local pool store and was told to add hydrafloc. I was reading the comments writtin above in this forum and am now wondering whether this will improve my situation as I am unfamiliar with this chemical. If anyone has any suggestions or experience with cloudy pool water or hydafloc, I would appreciate hearing them.
Thanks
Thanks
It seems like the trick is to vacuum really slowly to waste. This has been VERY frustrating for me because when I vacuum slowly to waste I then have to refill my pool w/ city water. Then my chemicals get thrown out of balance again. So I have to add more chlorine, PH, etc. Then I add the superfloc, filter for a few hours, let sit over night and vacuum to waste the next afternoon again. It's a slow (and getting to be very expensive) improvement- I have done this process three times now and I still can only see about 2 feet down. When I started though, I could only see about 3 inches down. This season I will make sure I cover my pool much better- not one leaf is getting in it this winter!

Same Problem - My Solution
I am having the same problem with my pool. I was away from home for a week only to come home to a totally "pond-scum-green" pool. I dumped twice the amount of shock, a bottle of clarifier and a gallon of Algecide. I continually backwashed the filter only to see nasty green water. I rand the filter all night and this morning I woke up to blue water, not clear, just blue.
I backwashed the filter several times today only to see green water. Since I have backwashed the filter many times I have added abotu 6 inches of new water. Tonight I turned the filter off and added abotu two ounces of clarifer. I will let you know tomorrow what happens.

Clearing UP!
It is clearing up. It is very close to becoming perfectly clear. When I started it looked like a stagnant pond. I had only been gone for 9 days, I wonder what caused that, but oh well.
Here is what I did:
-Shocked three times
-Raise PH level twice
-One and one-half gallons of algecide
-One bottle of concentrated water clarifier
-Continual backwashing
-Lots of prayer!
HA HA HA. So many things for one pool!
I hope this helps![/list]

Ok, look....cloudiness can be from various sources..most notably microbiological growth, high solids, & high metals...give me your full complete test results (including copper and iron) & I will evaluate.
