How to turn on pump

Trying to start up our above ground pool for the season. We had someone else close it and now we're lost. We've filled it, made sure we got all the plugs out. We went to plug the pump/filter in and nothing happened. During the season, we turned it on/off by plugging/unplugging it. We've looked for an off/on switch, is there one? It's a baquapure sand filter.
